— Three words to describe yourself…
— Creative, loves sausages, good at taking pictures.
— Can you debrief us a bit on your history? How did you come into contact with your first camera?
— My first camera i think i got when i was 14 or 15 years old, but i don’t think i was interested in photography back then.
Every one used their cameras to document birthdays and vacations and i didn’t really like all he pictures were everyone was smiling and eating cake.
— How do you get the models to pose in such a natural, sexy way?
— I think i know what i want, but each time you meet a new model or person you have feel how they are and use that.
— You sleep with your models?
— Im in a relationship and very attracted to her. So the answer is NO.
— Do you feel you have to adapt to what people want or do you mostly shoot for yourself?
— As everyone you have adapt to certain project and if you are working with clients. But i Also take pictures all the time for myself.
— Do you search for perfection or do you like to find beauty in imperfections?
— Perfection and beauty is up to the person who sees it. Everyone got different taste.
— What do you try to say with your photography. Do you hope it evokes emotions in the viewer?
— I use my emotions to create something that’s in my mind and that i think could give emotions even if it’s real or fake.
— Do you hope to inspire others or are you doing this mostly to gain life experience?
— I hope that i inspire others but i do it for my self. I want to create things in my way and that has nothing to do with life experience.
— Most memorable ‘captured’ moment/shot ever?
— Oh there are so many! One of them is a picture of a guy that got stabbed by a knife in the face. But it could also just be a picture of a city or a view of a great landscape that gives me the feeling of the moment when i was there.
— What do you like most about being a photographer?
— The creativity it gives.
— Who where the people that inspired you when you started?
— Francesca Woodman, Juegen Teller, Nan Goldin, Anders Petersen, Lars Tunbjörk.
— Any advice for photographers trying to make it in the business?
— Have a vision and set up goals for yourself.
— What are your thoughts about Fashion?
— It changes too fast or i am too slow. I’m not the fashion type.
— What is relevant today?
— Right now in Sweden it seems to be the wedding of Princess Victoria and Daniel Westling so everyone seems to have forgot the climate change and other important questions
— What is one thing you want everybody to know about Knotan?
— Just call me and i whisper it into your ear.
— What music do you listen to?
— Almost everything.
— Do you like films? What are your favourite five?
— «Hur långt är det till närmaste björn», «Kul med fisk», «Chernobyl Reclaimed — An animal takeover», «Serafina», «Cheech & Chong — Up in smoke»
— Favorite magazines and why?
— Self Service, Purple Magazine, Paradis. They got it all. Perfect layout and perfect pictures.
— What is love?
— What do you want in this life?
— I’m not a teenager anymore and that question has come up several times. Right now i don’t have the answer.
— For you, what is the best way to relax?
— Being close to nature, Fishing, Reading a book.
— The best day in your life, what could it be?
— It could be fishing.
— The best place on Earth?
— Scandinavia. I love the nature and the landscape in Norway and that gives me more inspiration than being in any city at all.
— What do you know?
— Nothing my mind is totally blank.
— Any cool artists that we need to check out?
— Malin Skjöld.
— What are you working on now?
— I wanna do a new exhibition but have not yet been working on it. so let’s see in the future. But right now I’m not working, I’m on vacation.
— What is relevant today?
— What do you know about Belarus?
— Gas problems.
— Famous last words?
— Everything happens between surface and the bottom.
